This position plays a vital role in the accounting department’s monthly closing. Insurance/Financial Institution or investments experience is a plus but not required.Organizational StructureThis position reports to the Manager of Investment Accounting and will work closely with our Houston Treasury Group and New York office, third party partnerships and asset managers.Performance Objectives• Monthly reconciliations of partnership investments in both GAAP and Statuary basis.• Prepare consolidation analysis and journal entries.• Prepare various financial schedules and management reports.• Work with Investran (partnership investment system) to provide investment information to various users/groups.Other special projects may be assigned.Position RequirementsThe Ideal Candidate Should Have:• BS in Accounting.• Public accounting experience preferred.• Attention to detail, good organization skills, and strong knowledge of accounting are required.• PC literate with strong Excel skills, especially managing large data volume with Excel.• Knowledge of Investran and SAP is helpful, but not required.• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.• Must be able to multitask and work under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.• Good communication and interpersonal skills.• Experience in the financial/insurance industry preferred.Partnership investments experience a plus.SAFG:CB05/06/2012About Us:SunAmerica Financial Group is one of the largest life insurance organizations in the United States based on over $236 billion of admitted assets as of June 30, 2011.
