Loan Processor

Details: JOB SUMMARYThe Loan Processor Responsible for the overall processing of mortgage loan files and general administrative duties.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPerforms the processing of mortgage loan files requiring the verification of loan documents including income, credit appraisal and title insurance-while maintaining strict compliance with RESPA, Section 32, HMDA and the turndown of mortgage loan files. Also includes any administrative duties to complete these tasks (i.e. faxing, copying, filing and phone support).Provide strong communication and support to underwriting, mortgage professionals and customers to clear stipulations needed for mortgage loan files to ensure a quick turnaround time.Gathers credit and other documents from the customer and third parties in support of the loan approval decision.Enter loan information into Nationstar Mortgage computer system. Mortgage Processor

Details: Division: Mortgage FlsaStatus: Non-Exempt EmploymentType: Regular GENERAL FUNCTION: Performs a wide range of duties related to the processing and pre-underwriting of residential mortgage loans. Duties are both file and vendor level in nature. Maintains contact with external and internal customers to ensure workflow deadlines are met. Assumes primary responsibility for the loan file upon receipt. Proactive in communicating status on the loan to both the borrower and the Loan Originator, and managing to the closing date. Responsible for updating the file and notepad as work progresses on the processing system.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Manage pipeline of conventional, government and/or portfolio loans.• Evaluate loan documentation and clear conditions as per delegated authority.• Maintain high level of customer service by being proactive in communicating with borrowers and loan originators.• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely loan data on processing system.• Actively participate in ongoing efforts to continually improve customer service for internal and external customers.• Responsible for appropriate section of HMDA Worksheet.• Review exception reports to ensure all tasks are completed.• Maintain knowledge of Fifth Third Mortgage Company's policies and procedures.• Perform any other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoneExperience•         MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred. Previous Mortgage experience in processing or closing preferred. Knowledge of conventional and/or government guidelines. Knowledge of processing procedures; knowledge of underwriting and/or closing procedures preferred. Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing residential real estate lending. Residential mortgage loan processing experience. Demonstrated organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrated teamwork, customer service, and follow-up skills. Strong PC skills (MS Office) required, experience with Mortgage origination systems, platforms tools and technology preferred. This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The NMLS web site (mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
